  • WETA WORKSHOP, Wellington, NZ 20/11/2010 - present

Weta Workshop is a post-production company responsible for numerous motion pictures such as the Hobbit, Elysium, Chappie, etc. Its a fast paced environment with hugely varied work requiring a creative, problem solving mind, and an ability to design on-the-fly to keep up with deadlines. Starting off as a 3d modeller and CNC Machinist, I began to take on more responsibility in managing projects and after 2 years, took over the 3D department. Since then ive overseen marked upgrades in the departments facilities and huge growth in number of jobs we can manage, thanks largely to my recruiting of a team of 3d modellers and machinists and advocation of 3d printing. In my time running the department ive seen Weta go from outsourcing 3d printing, to owning 10 machines, providing huge advances in our manufacturing capability. In addition to managing the 3d Department, ive project managed numerous major builds for Weta, including the Green-Goblin suit for Spiderman, The droids for Chappie, Balin and Thrandruil's armour for the Hobbit, and the Droids in Elysium.
